Singtel has officially unveiled Paragon-S, the industry’s first all-in-one digital aggregation and orchestration platform.
The platform integrates multiple orbit satellites with terrestrial fixed and mobile network connectivity services to improve resiliency, minimize costs, and unlock new revenue streams using edge computing and AI.
Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel's Digital InfraCo, highlighted the role of technological advancements in shaping the future of satellite communications.
He said that it is important to implement a multi-network orchestration platform, such as those utilized in the telecommunications sector, to expedite the process of digital transformation and facilitate the adoption of industry use cases at speed and at scale in a number of countries.
“The introduction of Paragon-S will empower satellite operators to become platform companies for enterprises. We will build on our existing ecosystem with partners to help operators develop and accelerate time-to-market for their use cases,” Chang added.
Comprehensive Orchestration Platform
Paragon-S is an in-house developed solution that is based on Singtel's patented Paragon platform. The solution is widely used in multiple countries including, Singapore, Thailand, Spain, Taiwan and Indonesia.
The platform will allow satellite operators to provide edge computing capabilities to enterprise customers, which enables them to host mission-critical applications either on-premises or through multi-tenanted edge clouds at gateway locations.
Thus, enterprises can seamlessly switch applications between the satellite operators’ edge cloud and public clouds based on their business requirements.
Moreover, the Paragon-S platform facilitates cooperation between satellite operators and terrestrial network providers, offering businesses integrated solutions. This enables seamless transitions between terrestrial fixed networks and 5G or 4G mobile networks, as well as access to GEO, MEO, and LEO satellites. These capabilities enhance both cost optimization and connectivity performance.
Furthermore, Singtel plans to collaborate with satellite operators globally to provide initial trials for the platform, establishing the foundation for a resilient satellite network.
