Huawei's ICT Middle East Competition concluded recently with an award ceremony for the winning Pakistani teams at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad. The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, himself attended the ceremony hosted by Huawei and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT). Other attendees included federal secretary of IT & telecommunication Sohail Rajput, Huawei Middle East VP Shunli Wang, Huawei Pakistan CEO Mark Meng, and other officials from MoITT and Huawei Pakistan.

Telenor Group and Yoma Strategic have entered into an agreement to sell Telenor Group’s 51% share of Digital Money Myanmar Limited (“Wave Money”) for USD 53 million to Yoma MFS Holdings Pte. Ltd, a subsidiary of Yoma Strategic.

South Korea’s Ministry of Science & ICT said that it will be launching an auction to award mobile carriers additional 5G spectrum next month. The winning carrier is required to install more than 150,000 5G base stations by 2025, as part of the government’s plan to deploy 5G nationwide.
