NEC Corporation and its ecosystem partners A10 Networks, Adtran (formerly ADVA), Fortinet and Juniper Networks have launched the Value Added xHaul Solution Suite to accelerate the monetization of operators’ transport networks in the 5G era. The new solution suite will enable traditional IP and optical transport networking to bring additional value with enhanced capabilities, including data center networks, network security, and automation to maximize operators’ profitability.

Singtel, together with SK Telecom (SKT), has held its first metaverse event in Singapore. Titled “Destination: ifland” the event demonstrated how Singtel’s 5G network is able to support and enable richer and more immersive metaverse experiences for consumers on SKT’s ifland app, which was first launched in South Korea in July 2021.

Singtel, GULF and AIS have commenced the construction of a new data center strategically located near Thailand’s capital, Bangkok. The data center, which is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2025 and offer 20 MW or more in capacity, will be operated by its joint venture company, GSA Data Center Company Limited (GSA).

Singtel has entered into a strategic partnership with Indonesia's largest telco, Telkom, and Indonesian energy company, Medco Power, for its first data center project in Indonesia. This is the third market for Singtel as it advances its regional data center strategy to address digital infrastructure demand critical to ASEAN's growth. The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Indonesia’s Vice Minister II of State-Owned Enterprises, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Singtel Group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon and Telkom CEO Ririek Adriansyah, and comes on the back of a memorandum of understanding between Singtel and long-standing partner Telkom in April to collaborate in the area of data centers.

MBSB Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CelcomDigi as part of its continuous digitalization journey to future-proof its banking operations and enrich customers’ experiences. This maiden partnership between the Islamic bank and the country’s largest telecommunications company will support MBSB Bank in continuing to serve its customers better and, at the same time, enhance its operational efficiency.

Unity Digital Infrastructure Inc. (Unity) has announced it has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement and a Master Agreement with PLDT Inc. (PLDT), through its subsidiaries Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Digitel Mobile Philippines (Digitel), for the acquisition of 650 telecommunications towers and related passive telecommunications infrastructure for PHP 9.2 billion through a sale and leaseback transaction.
