The space sector’s importance in areas such as IoT and the cloud has been underscored by two recent agreements in Bahrain and India. Bahrain-based technology company Beyon Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with E-Space, an innovator in LEO space systems.

The aim of this agreement is to enable space-based IoT services in Bahrain. By collaborating on the development of satellite IoT solutions, the two organizations hope to create unique IoT solutions that support real-time data services.

In addition, Amazon Web Services (AWS) India has signed a strategic MoU with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe).

This collaboration aims to support space-tech innovations through cloud computing. AWS will provide eligible space start-ups with tools, resources and technical support at no cost, helping them to build and commercialize innovative solutions faster. The collaboration will also involve training students and educators in cloud computing, AI, ML, analytics and security through AWS education programs.

These agreements come after the approval of the Indian Space Policy 2023 by the government of India, a policy that provides a strategic roadmap for the growth and development of India's space program.
