ZTE Corporation, a global leader in information and communication technology solutions, along with CelcomDigi Berhad and U Mobile Sdn Bhd, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to showcase the capabilities of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital solutions for real-time live broadcasting.

Providing Seamless Connectivity Through 5G-Advanced

This collaboration will involve 5G field trials in Sarawak using 5G-A technology to provide customers with a better experience through seamless connectivity using 5G carrier aggregation solutions like Automatic Antenna Pattern Control (AAPC) and AAU Hibernation.

Other 5G technologies such as mmWave, Dynamic Frame Scheduling (DIS Solution), and Fusion Assisting Super TDD (FAST Solution) will also be utilized to increase 5G speeds, along with a Native-AI Intelligent RAN for improved network and streaming management.

The MoU was signed by the CEOs of CelcomDigi and U Mobile, along with the Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia, at the Malaysian Pavilion during MWC Barcelona 2024. The Malaysian Minister of Communications witnessed the signing.

Enhancing Digital Experiences

CelcomDigi's CEO, Datuk Idham Nawawi, mentioned that the partnership with U Mobile and ZTE will allow them to develop and implement the latest 5G technologies to enhance digital experiences for consumers and businesses.

Meanwhile, U Mobile's CEO, Wong Heang Tuck, expressed excitement about collaborating with CelcomDigi and ZTE to promote the adoption of 5G-Advanced technology, aiming to become Malaysia's preferred digital services provider.

Moreover, Steven Ge, ZTE's Managing Director in Malaysia emphasized the company’s commitment to technological innovation and how the partnership with CelcomDigi and U Mobile will set new standards for live application use cases through the use of 5G-Advanced technology and AI-driven features.
