As more customers switch to 5G, Airtel is reallocating its mid-band spectrum on the 1800, 2100, and 2300 MHz bands nationwide. This move will result in faster browsing speeds and better indoor coverage for customers. Airtel is accelerating the process of repurposing its spectrum to ensure a greater 5G experience for its users.

Successful trials of the SA and NSA switch have been conducted in Rewari, Chennai, and Bhubaneswar, showing promising results. This enhancement in the 5G network will allow Airtel to introduce new applications, services, and solutions using open APIs and advanced connectivity.
Over the past year, Airtel has showcased the capabilities of 5G with various use cases that have transformed the way customers live and work.
Airtel's 5G rollout has been rapid, now covering all 28 states and eight union territories in India. Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, stated that as more customers transition to 5G, the company has repurposed its mid-band spectrum, which was previously used for 4G services.
This will also enable the launch of standalone technology, making Airtel the first network in India to operate on both standalone and non-standalone modes, providing the best experience in the market.
