Robi's ICT subsidiary, AxEnTec and RedDot Digital, are partnering with the Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB), to implement an AI-based early failure detection system for EGCB's power plants.

This pioneering collaboration seeks to introduce an advanced AI-based early failure detection system for EGCB's power plants. By combining the expertise of Robi's ICT subsidiary and RedDot Digital, this initiative aims to revolutionize the monitoring and maintenance protocols within the power sector, ensuring timely identification of potential issues and facilitating proactive measures to enhance the overall performance and longevity of the power plants under EGCB's purview.

Present at the official signing ceremony, held at the Head Office of the EGCB in Dhaka, was Md. Nazmul Alam, Executive Director of Planning and Design at EGCB, along with Adil Hossain Noble, Senior Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AxEnTec, and Hasib Mustabsir, Senior Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of RedDot Digital.

Reducing Downtime

The implementation of the AI-based early failure detection system, facilitated through the collaborative efforts of Robi's ICT subsidiary, AxEnTec, and RedDot Digital in partnership with the Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB), holds the promise of significantly reducing the downtime experienced by EGCB's power plants. This innovative system is designed to employ advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, enabling it to proactively identify potential issues and anomalies within the power plants' operational parameters.

By leveraging AI for early failure detection, the system aims to provide EGCB with timely insights into the health of its power infrastructure. This, in turn, allows for swift and informed decision-making, facilitating proactive maintenance measures and reducing the risk of unexpected failures. The ultimate goal is to ensure an uninterrupted and reliable supply of electricity to meet the growing demands of the region.

In addition to enhancing the reliability and operational efficiency of EGCB's power plants, the deployment of this AI-driven system represents a significant stride towards sustainable energy practices. By minimizing downtime and optimizing maintenance schedules, the initiative contributes to the overall resilience of the power grid, aligning with broader efforts to enhance energy security and sustainability in Bangladesh.

Optimizing Operational Efficiency

Md. Nazmul Alam believes that the partnership will revolutionize and optimize the operational efficiency and reliability in power generation in the country. Meanwhile, Adil Hossain Noble expressed delight regarding the collaboration which signifies AxEnTec’s commitment in helping the digitalization efforts of different industries.

The partnership is expected to play a vital role in contributing to the future of the country’s energy sector by deploying advanced technologies to make it more resilient and reliable. As these innovative solutions take root, they have the potential to shape a more efficient and sustainable energy landscape for Bangladesh, paving the way for a progressive and technologically advanced future.
