Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. that provides modern infrastructure, data management and digital solutions, has announced two new global partnership agreements with Cisco. These agreements allow Hitachi Vantara to join Cisco's Service Provider and Solution Technology Integrator (STI) partner programs. This partnership will enable Hitachi Vantara to integrate Cisco technologies with its storage products and become a top provider of data center infrastructure and hybrid cloud-managed services.

Many businesses are struggling with managing their data and intelligence as they expand their hybrid cloud presence. IDC predicts that by 2024, 40% of companies will rely on multi-partner technology agreements to address these challenges. Hitachi Vantara has added Cisco UCS X-Series servers to its offerings, creating a complete converged infrastructure solution called “Cisco and Hitachi Adaptive Solutions.”

This solution combines Cisco's compute and networking capabilities with Hitachi Vantara's Energy Star-certified Virtual Storage Platform to provide customers with a reliable, resilient and environmentally friendly IT infrastructure solution.

This solution is now available to Hitachi Vantara customers, helping to meet the growing demand for converged data center infrastructure. As a member of Cisco's Service Provider program, Hitachi Vantara offers consumption-based managed services to Cisco customers seeking data center and hybrid cloud services. These services can help address the IT industry's critical shortage of skilled workers, enabling enterprises to adopt new technologies more effectively and rely on Hitachi Vantara to streamline their hybrid cloud operations.

According to Kimberly King, the senior vice president of strategic partners and alliances at Hitachi Vantara, the recent agreements between Hitachi Vantara and Cisco are important additions to their long-standing partnership. The two companies have been trusted partners for over two decades and have built an innovative relationship. Successful partners adjust to meet customers' needs, and these developments offer the data-driven solutions and services that customers need the most.

Additionally, Nick Holden, the vice president of global strategic partners and co-sell at Cisco, believes that providing converged infrastructure solutions with managed services capabilities from two trusted global vendors can help customers reduce risk and optimize their business outcomes.

Furthermore, the vice president of channels & alliances at IDC, Steve White, believes that alliances like this are crucial to addressing a growing list of enterprise challenges, including sustainable practices, solution complexities, governance and supply chain issues.
