FutureNet Asia, now celebrating its fourth edition, continues to stand out at as a pioneer of telecom innovation, building on the success of FutureNet World, which is celebrating its sixth year.

Following notable telecom conferences in London and Dubai, FutureNet Asia 2024 will take place from September 17-18 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and will bring together over 400 industry leaders and visionaries to explore the intersections of network automation and AI.

The Asia Pacific region is diverse, with varying needs across mature and developing markets. This diversity presents challenges; yet also opportunities for innovation geared towards meeting market demands. FutureNet Asia 2024 will showcase the strategies of CSPs and vendors in the region that are focusing on addressing 5G monetization challenges, creating new business opportunities, and scaling operations using cloud-native software like GenAI.

The conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, case studies, and industry support from various organizations. The agenda will cover topics such as the future of telco, network modernization, AI, and cloud-native transformation. The agenda also includes the presentation of awards recognizing the notable innovations in network automation, software, and AI. FutureNet Asia provides a platform for networking and collaboration and serves as a dedicated space to discuss the challenges and successes of the ICT industry.

 

Day 1: Charting the Future Telco Landscape

The conference is set to kick off with a keynote presentation by Dr. Ong Geok Chwee, CEO of Bridge Alliance, setting the stage for a day packed with insights and forward-thinking discussions. The first panel discussion, featuring industry luminaries such as Roy Chua from AvidThink and Randeep Sekhon from Airtel, will explore how telcos can unlock new revenue streams and effectively monetize their networks.

Following this, Ron Porter from Amdocs and Roderick Santiago from PLDT will explain how to translate business intent into network reality through the power of GenAI and API exposure. The journey towards AI-native networks will continue with a panel discussion led by Amy Cameron from STL Partners. She will be accompanied by experts from StarHub, Globe Group, SK Telecom, and Rakuten Symphony.

The morning sessions will cover vital topics such as monetizing 5G and reducing cost to serve. Keynote presentations and panel discussions will focus on capturing enterprise opportunities, the potential of 5G-Advanced, and the realization of 5G SA networks.

In the afternoon, attendees will get the chance to engage in discussions on Network as a Service (NaaS) and the potential of open APIs to unlock new opportunities. Fireside chats and panel discussions will delve into the integration of GenAI for smarter networks and enhanced customer experiences.

The first day will conclude with the FutureNet Asia Awards, which will celebrate the innovation and excellence within the telecom industry. This ceremony will be followed by a networking and drinks reception, providing ample opportunities for attendees to connect and exchange ideas.

 

Day 2: Dissecting the Network AI and GenAI Hype

Day two will start with keynote presentations on the evolution of AI-native 5G and 6G, featuring insights from Takehiro Nakamura from NTT DOCOMO and Sam Wang from Huawei. The focus will then shift to leveraging GenAI for enhanced business performance, with a panel discussion led by Virat Patel from Pioneer Consulting and Bhupinder Singh from Vodafone Business.

The journey to cloud-native networks and 5G monetization will be explored in-depth, with panel discussions on accelerating the transition and the role of O-RAN in developing open and interoperable networks. Industry leaders like Yih-Khai Wong from ABI Research and Marko Cetkovic from M1 will provide valuable perspectives.

In the afternoon, discussions will expound upon the shift from data-driven to intent-driven networks, the model required for growth in service-centric operating models, and real-world case studies on achieving autonomous operations. Notable speakers include Wasit Wattanasap from AIS Thailand and Matthias Foo from ABI Research.

The event will wrap up with a closing keynote by Eric Davis from SK Telecom on applying AI to transform customer experiences, followed by a fireside chat on accelerating sustainability efforts with Amy Cameron from STL Partners and Hui Mien Lee from Singtel.
