The 9th edition of the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) has once again exceeded expectations, bringing together key players in the digital ecosystem from August 27 to 30, 2024. Hosted by Telin, BATIC 2024 continued its tradition of being a premier platform for industry leaders to discuss and shape the future of global connectivity.

Day one of the conference kicked off with discussions on "Shaping the Future of Global Connectivity," which addressed the shifting demands that are transforming digital infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific region. A keynote titled “Enabling Indonesia’s Digital Transformation” emphasized the nation’s ongoing efforts in digital growth, while a lively panel on “The Next Generation of Internet Demand” delved into the region’s future digital needs. The day concluded with the keynote, "Network Harmony: Evolving Computing Ecosystems for Sustainable Digital Growth," which offered insights into fostering a sustainable and resilient digital ecosystem.

On the second day, the discourse shifted towards sustainability and focused on how the industry can balance innovation with crucial ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. Keynotes included NTT GDC’s presentation on integrating sustainable practices in data centers, and discussions on sustainable approaches to meeting future internet demand and optical networking innovations. Industry collaboration toward a sustainable future was a recurring theme throughout the day’s events.

With speakers from leading companies like Telkom Indonesia, Meta, Netflix, Nokia, NTT Global Data Centers, and more, the sessions offered valuable perspectives on the future of digital connectivity. The event also partnered with the ITW Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF) to facilitate alignment among global connectivity leaders as they navigate towards achieving a sustainable digital future.

Beyond the sessions, BATIC 2024 featured several networking opportunities, including a Charity Fun Run, social activities, and exclusive dinners, providing attendees with an opportunity to build meaningful connections. As the event came to a close, the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving sustainability forward remained at the forefront of discussions.
