Nokia has announced that BBIX, Inc. has selected its IP routing technology to upgrade its network to 400GE in order to handle the increasing data traffic.

This upgrade will not only boost capacity but also enhance the stability, flexibility, and reliability of BBIX's network operations, resulting in better services for its customers.

BBIX will utilize Nokia's 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR) and SR Linux Network Operating System (NOS) to ensure seamless network interconnection as the number of high-bandwidth customers grows. The deployment will begin in Japan this year and then expand to other markets, including Singapore.

Hideyuki Sasaki, President & CEO of BBIX, stated that managing the current surge in internet traffic requires more than just capacity; it requires intelligent and reliable infrastructure. “Nokia's solution provides the sophisticated capabilities we need to handle high-volume traffic while maintaining exceptional service quality. Their technology enables us to build a network infrastructure that excels in three critical areas: cost-effectiveness, reliable performance, and seamless scalability,” explained Sasaki.

Kent Wong, Vice President and Head of IP Networks, Asia Pacific at Nokia, added, “Nokia is at the forefront of developing a comprehensive range of IP solutions in line with the evolving needs of the industry. A thorough evaluation of our routing portfolio convinced BBIX of the strength of our solutions. We are delighted to work with BBIX to upgrade its network with our 7220 IXR that runs the SR Linux NOS to help our customer improve its operational efficiency while its customers benefit from a massively scalable and future-proof network.”
