NTT DOCOMO and Korean telecommunication operator, SK Telecom (SKT), have released two white papers outlining  energy-efficient 5G mobile networks, related technologies, and requirements for future 6G networks. This represents the initial result of a foundational agreement inked by the two firms last November, which aims to delve into a technical collaboration concerning next-generation telecommunication infrastructure technologies for the advancement of 5G and 6G.

ABS-CBN Corporation, a media giant, announced that they have canceled the sale of their stake in Sky Cable Corp to PLDT Inc., the largest fully integrated telco company in the Philippines. This decision was made by both parties and represents a significant change in the expected transaction. ABS-CBN Corporation and PLDT have agreed not to move forward with the sale of Sky Cable to PLDT, as outlined in the sale and purchase agreement (SPA) signed in March 2023.

State-owned Telkom Indonesia has successfully launched the Merah Putih-2 satellite, formerly known as Telkomsat HTS 113BT. The launch is needed to strengthen the connection infrastructure across Indonesia, particularly in remote or underserved areas, where terrestrial infrastructure might be lacking or inadequate. The Merah Putih-2 satellite can help expand broadband coverage, improve internet connectivity, and enhance communication services nationwide.
