AIS Fibre has launched WiFi 6E services, a new standard of wireless tech on the new 6 GHz waveband. It is the first operator in the Thai fixed broadband industry to offer such services. AIS has partnered with world-class router developer TP LINK to ship the WiFi 6E Router, enabling customers to get the best user experience from their home Internet. WiFi 6E has the property of approximately quadrupling frequency bands and adding signal channels to relieve congestion, with the result of smoother connections when streaming HD video or using VR, meeting the needs of all users in the household.

Sunee Rojanaolarnrat, head of fixed broadband marketing at AIS, explained, “AIS Fibre has the clear objective of upgrading home internet service standards to deliver quality user experiences and the best possible services on an ongoing basis. For this, we track the development of international tech standards and work closely with our global partners. It can be seen from the last 7-8  years, we have consistently delivered innovation to transform the industry and improve the quality of the user experience. Now once again, we have been able to launch service packages with hardware to support WiFi 6E on the new 6GHz spectrum, in the wake of NBTC’s announcement to support devices and equipment on this waveband at the end of April 2023.

This device has been developed with the properties to expand the signal for coverage with greater efficiency and stability. As a result, the system is more efficient than previous iterations. Signal channels have been added to reduce congestion issues and promote a smooth user experience. Microwave frequencies do not interfere with the 6 GHz band, while the available Wi-Fi frequency has increased four-fold with a maximum signal bandwidth of 160 MHz.
