Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (Converge), a leading fiber broadband and technology company in the Philippines, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Super Micro Computer Inc. (Supermicro), a US-based IT solutions provider specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, storage, and 5G/edge technologies.

Together, both entities aim to establish AI-powered, environmentally friendly data centers in the Philippines.

Converge CEO and Co-Founder, Dennis Anthony Uy, expressed excitement about working with Supermicro to create cutting-edge, AI-ready data centers in the country. These data centers will be energy-efficient and will utilize liquid cooling technology. Moreover, the data centers will leverage Supermicro's servers—equipped with advanced AI computing capabilities— to complete deep learning tasks and create AI applications.

Supermicro plans to develop liquid-cooled solutions using NVIDIA GPUs for Converge's upcoming data centers in Pampanga, Laguna, and Caloocan. These data centers will be designed in accordance with Supermicro's future-ready standards.

The collaboration also includes deploying AI-driven servers to support various AI applications such as the national large language model (LLM), Smart Manufacturing for Industry 4.0, deep learning/machine learning (ML), and the AI Philippines Video Generator.

Converge aims to incorporate Supermicro's liquid cooling solutions into its servers to reduce power consumption, lower data center costs, and minimize environmental impact. According to Supermicro,  utilizing liquid-cooling technology within data center servers can reduce power consumption by up to 40%. This technology helps improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance energy efficiency in data centers.

They specialize in designing environmentally friendly servers, storage systems, switches, and software, along with providing global support services.
