Oracle has announced plans to invest over USD 6.5 billion to open a public cloud region in Malaysia to meet the increasing demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud services.
This move will allow Oracle customers and partners in Malaysia to utilize AI infrastructure and services and transfer important workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Oracle Service Suite Integrations
The new cloud region will assist organizations in Malaysia in updating their applications, moving various workloads to the cloud, and innovating with data, analytics, and AI. Customers will have access to various services, including OCI Generative AI Agents, accelerated computing, and OCI Supercluster, the largest AI supercomputer in the cloud.
Additionally, services like Oracle Autonomous Database, HeatWave MySQL Database Service, Oracle Cloud VMware Solution, OCI Kubernetes Engine, and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite will be available. The Malaysian Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry welcomed Oracle's investment, stating that it will empower Malaysian entities, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises, with advanced AI and cloud technologies.
